Florida Keys, with its legendary town called Key West, have a vibe of its own. Despite the retirement scene and the Key West tourist scene, one can find tranquility in some parts of the Keys. My short 4 day visit successfully unveiled a side to the Keys that has oftentimes been overlooked. The highlight was Bahia Honda State Park. It has a lovely beach akin to one of the more far away beaches that cruise ship people would be drawn to except it’s wild, free of any commercial development and sits right next to what I would deem as the best beach campground in the continental USA.
