From roughing it to wild hiking, Aruba was such a pleasant surprise just like its sister island, Curacao. Indeed, Aruba has room for budget minded adventurers and you won’t be disappointed because the further you head out south, you will get a more authentic feel for Aruba’s local life. With cheap rental cars, base yourself in Savaneta and from there explore the entire island, both its beaches and mountain. Yes, you can certainly hike and get the feel that you’re in a remote island. Foodies will enjoy some of the local joints, especially the fish fry and latin fare. But I give special props to the Filipino restaurant in the tourist center. It was such a pleasant foodie surprise, and you know I had to have IT and we did.
