The Great Himalaya Trail is deemed to be the longest and highest trail in the world.  In Nepal, GHT is made up of the high trail and the low trail.  Currently, the high trail is 1700 kilometer long  and is open for trekking.  Eventually, the GHT trail will expand into Bhutan, India, and Tibet.

A few people have already completed the high trail of the GHT in one go which takes about 150 days.  The high points go beyond 6000 with some of passes requiring technical climbing.  GHT is divided into the following regions:

  2. Makalu Barun
  3. Everest and Rolwaling
  4. Langtang and Helambu
  5. Manaslu and Ganesh
  6. Annapurna and Mustang
  7. Dolpa
  8. Rara and Jumla
  9. Humla
  10. Far West
